Bio:

I am entering my 22nd year as a teacher/coach in education.  I have been a head softball coach for 20 years and have been at several schools.  I have always coached a second sport and have experience in volleyball, basketball, and cross country.  Originally, I am from the West Texas area and people usually say they can tell because of my accent. I look forward to finishing my career at ECISD.  I feel at “home” and love the opportunity that I have been given.  One part of my philosophy is that I am very passionate about my position as a teacher and coach and I want that to reflect in the performance of my students in the classroom as well as in their sport.  I never want to be outworked, not prepared, or have our teams out-hustled. I have the best interest of the athletes at heart at all times.  Loyalty to our program and to others is of utmost importance to me.

Bio:

Coach Lane may have Bama blood running through her veins but she grew up in Kansas City, KS where she graduated high school at the top of her class. She has earned 3 college degrees from an Associates in Criminal Justice to a Masters in Education. Having played sports from a young age, she continued her love of athletics playing college softball. While working on her Bachelor degree at Schreiner University, she had the opportunity to coach collegiate athletes as part of the softball coaching staff. Getting her teaching certification in 2002, she spent the next 4 years coaching high school softball and basketball before moving to East Central in 2008. This is her 10th year teaching at East Central. She has been the swim coach for the last five years 4 of those being the head. For the 17-18 school year, she has joined the EC softball coaching staff as an assistant coach. Camping, fishing, reading and trips to Disneyworld are only a few of the ways she spends her free time with her family: husband, Harvey and three sons Cody, Logan and Colton.

Bio:

I am Coach Woodward and I love sports and watching a game any chance I get. I have the biggest passion for softball as I have played it since the third grade. I received my Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Texas State University in 2013, and my Masters of Science from Texas Tech University in 2017. Wreck ‘Em Tech all the way! I have coached developmental skills to athletes in CYO, Little League, and the YMCA. This is my second year teaching at East Central, and I have found my home that I want to continue to grow in. I am a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher which is part of the Career and Technology Education Department. I teach Food Science and Child Development, and I am a FCCLA Advisor as well. I am the proud parent of an ebullient little boy that stole my heart. This will be my first year coaching at the High School level. I cannot wait for January as this has always been a dream of mine! Let’s go Hornets!
