Varsity Softball · Lady Hornet Softball Picks Up Playoff Win

Despite a halting weather delay during the 4th inning of Wednesday’s game, the Lady Hornets Softball team was able to maintain their lead and come out on top to defeat MacArthur 9-1 yesterday.
Holly Ayala earned the win for East Central, allowing only four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four.
A 6 run rally in the top of the 4th inning was the catalyst our Lady Hornets needed. The rally was led by singles by Leah Gonzalez, Jordyn Lopez, and Aviana Martinez, a groundout by Isabella Vidal, and an error on a ball put in play by Erin Villela.
The game came to a halt Wednesday night due to the weather, but our girls picked up right where they left off yesterday, tacking on 3 more runs to secure a dominating victory.
East Central collected ten hits in total with Martinez, Marisol Vargas, Vidal, and Ayala all collecting multiple hits. East Central Lady Hornets Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Alexis Barrientez made the most plays with 13.
Our Lady Hornets will continue their series against MacArthur (weather permitting) this evening at our home field starting at 7:00. We highly encourage as many fans to attend as possible! There is seating available in the bleachers as well as lawn chair seating around the perimeter of the field.
Our girls have worked so diligently this season, and we are asking for your support more now than ever. So come out tonight, bring your lawn chairs, umbrellas and Hornet Pride to cheer on our girls. We look forward to seeing you there!
