Multiple Teams · Lady Hornets Secure First District Win at San Marcos

Holly Ayala had all the right stuff on Tuesday for Lady Hornets, allowing zero runs and besting San Marcos by a score of 15-0. Veronica Garcia led Lady Hornets to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Garcia drove in runs on a triple in the second, a single in the third, and a double in the fourth.
Lady Hornets opened up scoring in the first inning. Marisol Vargas drove in one when she singled.
EC notched five runs in the second inning. Lady Hornets put the pressure on, lead by a triple by Garcia, a sacrifice fly by MacKenzie Dugi, and a groundout by Ayala. Ayala also pitched EC to victory. She lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. East Central racked up nine hits. Garcia, Mikaila Vidal, and Vargas each managed multiple hits for Lady Hornets. Garcia went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lady Hornets in hits. Lady Hornets didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jaclyn Garcia had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
Your JV softball team also defeated San Marcos with a commanding score of 12-0.
