The Hornet basketball team had teacher appreciation night Tuesday night and wants to once again thank all the teachers who make our season possible. You take the time to help our student athletes stay on top of their studies and continue to push them to be successful. Without you going above and beyond your duties we would not have students reaching the academic heights of success that we do. If you were chosen as one of these representatives thank you and know that you are very special to us and our athletes. Thank you for all that you do.
Hornet basketball hosted a tough, scrappy and determined Smithson Valley team that was able to get the win. The game was very competitive as the Hornets took the lead going into halftime 37-34. Smithson Valley came out in the second half with an extra sense of urgency and was able to hit 3 big three’s back to back to back. Jonathan Ochoa’s 17 points and T’vonsi Hubbard’s 15 points kept the Hornets in the game. Ultimately, Smithson Valley had a little bit too much gas in the tank and were able to close the game for the Rangers 70-63. Next for the Hornets is Canyon in New Braunfels with a 7:00pm tip-off.
