Boys Varsity Basketball · Hornets Open Season With Win

The Hornet boys basketball team opened the season against the O’Connor Panthers with an impressive win. The high-pressure defensive play forced 14 steals and 11 deflections. The Hornets came out with a great mindset that led to an even distribution in scoring that had 8 players scoring and only one scoring more than ten. Jonathan Ochoa was the team leader with 13pts. Anston Bryant-Kelley lead the charge defensively 3 blocks, 3 steals, and 2 deflections to go along with a monster dunk off a steal in the first half. Austin Jimenez was the team’s energy spark plug and led the group with a strong, mentally tough defensive presence. A big second quarter would be all the Hornets needed to separate themselves from the Panthers. The Hornets will next face Brennan for the season home opener this Tuesday at 7pm.
