Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Hornets Continue To Play Well


The Lady Hornets continued to play well during day two of the NISD tournament. The day started with a win over Brennan. Deja Jones continued to lead the way notching the second double-double of the young season with 22 points and 11 rebounds. It was the last bucket that she made that proved to be the go head score to give the Lady Hornets the 55-53 win. She also contributed defensively with 4 steals. Jacy Reese assumed the role of distributor leading the team with 3 assists. Ms Reese and Natalie Goddard both pitched in defensively taking charges to give possession back to the Lady Hornets.

In the afternoon semi-finals game the Lady Hornets come up short against a strong Brandeis team. Once again, Deja Jones set the pace scoring 18 points, grabbing 7 boards, and 2 steals. Alanis Macias took a charge for the Lady Hornets, giving them an extra possession.

The Lady Hornets efforts over the last two days have earned them a spot in the Consolation Championship. They will take on Stevens at noon.
