Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Completes The Sweep Of Clemens

Friday night, East Central was on the road against Clemens high school. After a dramatic walk-off win Tuesday night the Hornets were looking to complete the district sweep of the Buffaloes. The contest was scoreless through the first two innings. Tyler Vivier would break the scoreless tie in the top of the third inning when his sacrifice fly would score Jason Mascorro from third base. The Hornet lead would not last long as Clemens would push two runs across in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead. The Hornet offense would be far from finished though, scoring four runs in the top of the fourth that included hits from Robert Sierra, Logan Taylor, Taylor Neil and Damion Gonzales. Again in the fifth inning the Hornet offense would score four more runs with assistance from the Buffalo pitching and defense who committed two errors and issued two walks in addition to hits from Robert Sierra and Jason Mascorro. The Hornets would tack on three more runs in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach and defeat Clemens by a final score 12-6. Junior Robert Sierra and senior Taylor Neil both had a multiple hit night to lead the offensive charge. Mascorro, Sierra and Taylor all scored multiple runs also. With the win Friday night the Hornets improved to 19-6-1 (8-1).

The Hornets return to action tomorrow night at Bartleson Field as they play host to the Rockets from Judson high school, first pitch is slated for 7pm. We look forward to seeing you out at the ballpark this week! Don’t forget to follow us on twitter @SAECHSBaseball for EVERYTHING Hornet baseball!
