Girls Varsity Softball · Softball Continues Undefeated Run With Victory Over New Braunfels

Your Lady Hornets survived the cold weather last night with another district win against New Braunfels Unicorns 10-4, despite New Braunfels scoring 3 runs in the 7th inning. In the first inning, the Hornets got their offense started when Kayla Gonzales homered on a 2-2 count, scoring 3 runs.  EC notched 3 runs in the 3rd inning when Jazmine Torres and Cierra Gutierrez each drove in runs. Bella Saldivar was the winning pitcher for East Central. She surrendered one run on 2 hits over four 1/3 innings, striking out 6 and walking 1.  Nikkolette Hernandez threw 2 2/3 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Marisol Vargas had a four bagger (Homerun) in the 7th inning. Torres went 2 for 4 at the plate to lead East Central in hits. East Central was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
The Lady Hornets improve to 13-0 and 2-0 in district.  We will take on Smithson Valley on Tuesday of Spring Break here at EC with a 2:00 p.m. start.  We will then take on #1 in the city NB Canyon on Thursday at Canyon also with a 2:00 p.m. start.  We would love for you to come out, relax,  and enjoy watching these young ladies as they continue their run for a District title.
