Friday night the EC boys basketball program took on a very gritty Roosevelt Roughriders program. The night started off with the freshmen black team going back and forth in which they were able to cut the lead to 2 late in the fourth before Roosevelt halted the attack and pulled off the victory EC 67- Roosevelt 64.
The gold team would win their second in a row after starting fast with team ball and pressure. They lead by as many as 15 late in the 4th before Roos, had a late charge and time expired EC 48- Roos 43.
The Jv Boys program continued to dominate and play as one team with one goal, domination, as the once again won big and demonstrated good team chemistry. The final would be Ec 71- Roos 63.
The Game of the night would belong to our EC Hornets varsity team lead by John Ochoa and T’vonsi Hubbard who had 24 and 20 points for the game. Ochoa would also contribute with 9 rebounds for the game. The game would be Via Alamo City Hoops “the most exciting game I’ve been to all season” which is a major compliment to Coach Rabon and the staff considering they attend all the biggest games in the city. They would go on and praise the teams selflessness and relentlessness throughout the game. The game would come down to the wire with contstant lead changes and constant pushes where one team seemed to have the upper hand. But, late in the 4th Andres Garza came in along with every one elses contributions and shut down any sense of a let down and hit big threes, and had big stops to get the team and everyone in the stands up on their feet jumping around and cheering our boys on to victory. Ec 88- Roos 83.
