The Hornet Varsity I team traveled to Marble Falls, TX this weekend for the competitive Marble Falls HS Classic held at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The Hornets faced the toughest test of golf on Friday as they braved Ram Rock Golf Course which is consistently rated as the hardest golf course in Texas. Senior Brycen Collier paced the Hornets with an 83 and Captain Ryan Wahne a few strokes behind with an 87. The Hornets fired a team total of 355 good enough for 7th out of 16 heading into day 2. On Saturday the Hornets dealt with 15mph winds and gusts 25-30mph at Hidden Falls Golf Club all day. This contributed to the Hornets struggling with a 369 team score and an 11th place finish out of 16. Brycen Collier had a 2-day total of 172 with Ryan Wahne a stroke behind at 173. Bryce Miller finished with a 181 to help lead the way. The Hornets will be off until February so will have ample time to right any wrongs with their games heading into the stretch run for the District Championship.
